Lunch Duty Roles and Responsibilities Google Form: |
3B: Collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.
In my new position, I have been afforded many wonderful opportunities to lead through my knowledge of technology. In an effort to sure up systematic policies, I created and facilitated this Google Form. I used the information gathered from this form to develop the lunch duty roles and responsibilities for the Instructional Assistants in my building. Now that everyone is being consistent throughout the building, the students are having a pleasant experience as well as the staff who work with them.

Class Website Screencast: |
3C: Communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats
While teaching my 3rd/4th grade class, I developed this website. However, this screencast was not just to show students the website. I used this screencast after the students had already become comfortable with the website. We were beginning a new unit of study on the Regions of Oregon and I wanted to make sure the students were aware of the new content I had put in. By doing this, I was able to communicate information to my students in a fun effective manner.

3rd Grade Google Drive:

3D: Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.
While teaching my 3rd/4th grade class, I was the Data Technician for the 3rd grade Data Team. During this process, I lead the initiative to convert our team from paper and pencil, face to face collaboration to digital collaboration and data analysis. I developed rubrics and collected the academic data from exit tickets and other assessments to create visuals that illustrated student gains.
This bloomed into a collaboration effort that allowed us all to work together at anytime from any location. As a result of our overwhelming success during the 2013-2014 school year (highest 3rd grade reading gains in the Salem-Keizer School District) the whole school has been introduced to Google Drive this year and are now working toward a more collaborative school wide environment. Though the original Data Team itself has since dispersed, we still utilize Google Drive to collaborate with each other on a number of other projects. |
